German Jule Niemeier won against Indian Ankita Raina 6-1, 6-3 to move into the quarter-finals of the Parma Ladies Open presented by Iren on Wednesday afternoon.
Niemeier, ranked No 105, will play Zeynep Sonmez next.
The German beat Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the No 6 seed (6-4, 4-6, 6-0) in the previous round.
During the 32, Raina, ranked No 269, defeated Australian Astra Sharma (3-6, 6-4, 6-1).
