Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz advanced to the last 4 of the Nordea Open by edging out German Tamara Korpatsch, the No 3 seed, 6-2, 4-6, 7-5.
Parrizas Diaz, ranked No 165, will face the winner of the match between American Ann Li and Pole Katarzyna Kawa next.
Ahead of her victory, the Spaniard won against Argentinian Julia Riera (6-3, 6-1) and edged out Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the No 6 seed (6-4, 6-7 (6), 7-5).
Korpatsch, ranked No 73, edged out Ella Seidel (6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-4) and benefited from the abandonment of Slovenian Tamara Zidansek (6-7 (3), 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
