Midland Open: Kalinskaya outlasts Parks to book spot in final

Anna Kalinskaya at the 2023 Midlands Open
Russian Anna Kalinskaya moved into the final of the Midland Open by winning against American Alycia Parks, the No 3 seed, 3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-3 at the Greater Midland Tennis Center on Saturday evening.
Kalinskaya, ranked No 115, will face Croat Jana Fett next.
The Russian beat Heather Watson (6-4, 6-4), Tatiana Prozorova (6-3, 7-5) and American Hailey Baptiste (7-6 (4), 4-6, 7-6 (5)) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Midland tournament, Parks, ranked No 54, won against Ann Li (6-2, 6-1), Frenchwoman Carole Monnet (6-3, 6-2) and Canadian Katherine Sebov (7-5, 6-1).
