Zeynep Sonmez edged out Pole Katarzyna Kawa 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-4 to move into the last 16 of the L’Open 35 de Saint Malo on Monday afternoon.
Sonmez, ranked No 161, will face top seed Clara Burel next.
