Frenchwoman Clara Burel, the top seed, reached the quarter-finals of the L’Open 35 de Saint Malo by winning against Zeynep Sonmez 6-7 (4), 7-5, 6-3 on Wednesday evening.
Burel, ranked No 44, will face Swiss Celine Naef next.
The Frenchwoman beat Elsa Jacquemot (6-3, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Sonmez, ranked No 161, edged out Pole Katarzyna Kawa (7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-4).
