WTA Lasi Open: Gorgodze reaches last eight, beating Podoroska, Bogdan next
Ekaterine Gorgodze beat Nadia Podoroska 6-4, 6-2 on Thursday evening. She’ll face Romanian Ana Bogdan, the No 3 seed, in the next round
Georgian Ekaterine Gorgodze, the No 8 seed, reached the last eight of the Lasi Open by winning against Argentinian Nadia Podoroska 6-4, 6-2 at Baza Sportivă Ciric in Iasi on Thursday evening.
Gorgodze, ranked No 147, will play Romanian Ana Bogdan, the No 3 seed, next.
In the previous round, the Georgian beat Frenchwoman Clara Burel (7-5, 6-0).
Podoroska, ranked No 190, defeated Romanian qualifier Ilona Georgiana Ghioroaie (6-2, 6-3) in the previous round.
