Jiangxi Open: Siegemund reaches last eight

German Laura Siegemund reached the quarter-finals of the Jiangxi Open by beating compatriot Tamara Korpatsch 6-4, 6-4 at the Nanchang International Tennis Center on Wednesday.
Siegemund, ranked No 101, will face the winner of the match between Thai qualifier Mananchaya Sawangkaew and Chinese wildcard Zheng Saisai next.
In the previous round of the Jiangxi tournament, Laura Siegemund won against Japanese Moyuka Uchijima, the No 3 seed (7-5, 6-3).
Korpatsch, ranked No 200, won against Indonesian qualifier Priska Nugroho (6-0, 6-1) in the previous round of the Jiangxi tournament.
