Chinese qualifier Shi Han moved into the second round of the Hong Kong Open by beating Russian Margarita Gasparyan 6-4, 6-2 at Victoria Park, Causeway Bay on Monday.
Shi, ranked No 245, will face American Bernarda Pera, the No 9 seed, next.
