Guadalajara Open: Trevisan stunned by qualifier Gadecki in quarter-finals
Olivia Gadecki beat Martina Trevisan 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 and will play the winner of the match between Camila Osorio and Kamilla Rakhimova in the next round
Australian qualifier Olivia Gadecki reached the last four of the Guadalajara Open by winning against Italian Martina Trevisan 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 at the Panamerican Tennis Center.
Gadecki, ranked No 152, will face the winner of the match between Colombian Camila Osorio and Russian Kamilla Rakhimova next.
The 22-year-old Australian defeated American Sloane Stephens (6-4, 6-3) and American Danielle Collins, the second seed (6-3, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Guadalajara tournament, Trevisan, ranked No 99, won against American Caroline Dolehide, the No 8 seed (6-3, 6-2) and Mexican Renata Zarazua (6-4, 6-3).
