American Alycia Parks beat Spaniard Cristina Bucsa, the No 8 seed, 6-3, 6-3 to move into the final of the Crèdit Andorrà Open on Saturday evening.
Parks, ranked No 134, will play the winner of the match between Swede Rebecca Peterson and Croat Ana Konjuh next.
Ahead of her victory, the 21-year-old American won against Czech Linda Noskova, the No 4 seed (7-6 (5), 2-6, 6-2), Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin (6-3, 7-6 (6)) and German wildcard Sabine Lisicki (7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-3).
Bucsa, ranked No 108, defeated Israeli Lina Glushko (6-1, 7-6 (1)), Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl (6-3, 6-3) and Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck, the second seed (3-6, 6-3, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
