Catalonia Open: Top seed Teichmann advances to quarter-finals

Swiss Jil Teichmann, the top seed, won against Colombian qualifier Emiliana Arango 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Catalonia Open on Thursday.
Teichmann, ranked No 30, will face the winner of the match between Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska and Russian Anna Blinkova, the No 5 seed, next.
In the previous round, the Swiss beat Ylena In-Albon (6-1, 6-3).
Arango, ranked No 222, won against Russian qualifier Erika Andreeva (6-4, 6-4) in the 32.
