Bogota Open: Tan retires, wildcard Arango moves into second round
Emiliana Arango benefited from the abandonment of Harmony Tan (7-5, 3-1) on Tuesday
Colombian wildcard Emiliana Arango advanced to the second round of the Bogota Open when French qualifier Harmony Tan retired on Tuesday at the Country Club Bogota.
Arango, ranked No 242, led 7-5, 3-1 when Tan, ranked No 216, pulled out at the Country Club Bogota on Tuesday evening.
The 22-year-old Colombian will play the winner of the match between Aliona Bolsova and No 7 seed Sara Sorribes Tormo next.
