Russian Diana Shnaider reached the quarter-finals of the Birmingham Open by beating No 8 seed Marie Bouzkova 7-6 (5), 6-3 at Edgbaston Priory Club on Thursday.
Shnaider, ranked No 49, will play Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto next.
Ahead of her victory, the 20-year-old Russian won against qualifier Amelia Rajecki (7-5, 6-3).
Bouzkova, ranked No 37, edged out wildcard Heather Watson (3-6, 6-4, 7-5) in the previous round of the Birmingham tournament.
