Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the second seed, won against Czech Linda Noskova 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 to move into the last 16 of the Birmingham Classic at Edgbaston Priory Club on Tuesday.
Ostapenko, ranked No 17, will face American wildcard Venus Williams next.
