Ann Li moved into the last 4 of the BBVA Open Internacional De Valencia by defeating Elvina Kalieva 6-2, 6-0 on Friday afternoon.
Li, ranked No 172, will play the winner of the match between No 7 seed Marina Bassols Ribera and second seed Jessica Bouzas Maneiro next.
Ann Li won against Spanish wildcard Guiomar Maristany Zuleta De Reales (6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-1) and Italian Martina Trevisan, the No 3 seed (2-6, 6-3, 6-3) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, Kalieva, ranked No 244, beat Varvara Lepchenko (7-5, 1-6, 6-2) and German Mona Barthel (3-6, 6-4, 6-1).
