Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, the second seed, defeated Slovenian Polona Hercog 6-1, 6-2 to move into the quarter-finals of the BBVA Open Internacional De Valencia on Thursday evening.
Bouzas Maneiro, ranked No 87, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Marina Bassols Ribera, the No 7 seed, and Australian lucky loser Seone Mendez next.
In the previous round, the 21-year-old Spaniard won against Italian qualifier Nuria Brancaccio (7-6 (3), 6-4).
Hercog, ranked No 183, won against Spanish qualifier Eva Guerrero Alvarez (6-2, 6-4) in the 32.
