Wimbledon: Popyrin moves into third round, faces Djokovic

Australian Alexei Popyrin won against Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 30 seed, 3-6, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 to reach the third round of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Thursday.

Popyrin, ranked No 47, will play Serb Novak Djokovic, the second seed, next.

The Australian edged out Brazilian Thiago Monteiro (6-4, 6-7 (8), 6-3, 6-4) ahead of his victory.

In the previous round of The Championships, Etcheverry, ranked No 31, beat Italian Luca Nardi (6-1, 6-4, 6-2).
