World No 97 Niemeier advances to Wimbledon fourth round

German Jule Niemeier defeated Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to move into the fourth round of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Friday.
Niemeier, ranked No 97, had upset second seed Anett Kontaveit, of Estonia, in the second round. The German will face the winner of the match between Heather Watson and Slovenian Kaja Juvan in the fourth round.
Prior to this week, Niemeier had never won a Grand Slam match in her career.
