Quentin Halys edged out countryman Benoit Paire 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the second round of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Monday.
Halys, ranked No 84, will face the winner of the match between Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili, the No 22 seed, and Czech qualifier Lukas Rosol in the second round.
