Fucsovics will get another crack at Rublev after reaching week two at Wimbledon
Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics has cracked a career milestone at Wimbledon, with his victory over No 9 seed Diego Schwartzman on Day 5.

- What happened: Marton Fucsovics took out Diego Schwartzman to reach the round of 16 at Wimbledon for the first time, 6-3, 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-4.
- Key stat: The unseeded Hungarian is the first man from his country to reach the second week at Wimbledon since 1980.
- Key stat #2: Fucsovics took out No 19 seed Jannik Sinner in four sets in the first round. He entered this year’s main draw with a 1-2 lifetime record at Wimbledon.
- History maker: Fucsovics has become the 3rd Hungarian man in the Open Era to reach the round of 16 at Wimbledon. He joins Szabolcs Baranyi (1973) and Balazs Taroczy (1980).
- Next opponent: Fucsovics will face Andrey Rublev in the round of 16. Rublev has already defeated Fucsovics four times in 2021.
