‘If you’re broken after a three-hour match, you can’t play professionally’ – Dumped doubles partner Korpatsch raging at Tan
The sweetheart of Centre Court on Tuesday – but her expected doubles partner is not so impressed

Harmony Tan withdrew from the women’s doubles at Wimbledon today, just ahead of her first-round encounter with Tamara Korpatsch against 15th seeds Raluca Olaru and Nadiia Kichenok.
The Frenchwoman who knocked Serena Williams out of the singles on Tuesday evening cited a thigh injury – but Korpatsch was fuming.
Posting a photo of herself alone on court, she wrote on Instagram: “Unfortunately my doubles partner H Tan retired from our doubles today. She just texted me this morning. Let me wait here one hour before the match start[ed]. I’m very sad, disappointed and also very angry that I can’t play my first doubles Grand Slam. And it’s really not fair for me. I didn’t deserve that.
“She asked me before the tournament if we wanna play doubles and I said yes, I didn’t ask her, she asked me! If you’re broken after a three-hour match the day before, you can’t play professional[ly]. That’s my opinion.”
Tan has struggled with injury, and is playing her first singles Grand Slam main draw.
Korpatsch also played in singles, losing in the first round to Britain’s Heather Watson, 6-7 (7), 7-5, 6-2, in a match that extended over two rain-interrupted days.
