Liechtensteiner Kathinka von Deichmann won against Greek Despina Papamichail 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy on Wednesday.
Von Deichmann, ranked No 199, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the top seed, and Portuguese Francisca Jorge next.
The Liechtensteiner beat Frenchwoman Selena Janicijevic, the No 6 seed (6-1, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Papamichail, ranked No 227, won against American Maria Mateas (1-6, 7-5, 6-0).
