Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti reached the Olympic Games semi-finals as he defeated defending champion Alexander Zverev in straight sets, 7-5, 7-5.
He is the third Italian man to reach singles semi-finals in Olympic history after Uberto De Morpurgo (Paris 1924) and Paolo Cané (Los Angeles 1984).
It follows his Wimbledon semi-final last month, and marks the first time this year he has beaten a player ranked in the Top 5. It also marks his 19th win since the start of the grass-court season.
