Frenchwoman Diane Parry beat Russian Kamilla Rakhimova 7-5, 6-2 to move into the third round of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park on Wednesday night.
Parry, ranked No 72, will face Russian Mirra Andreeva next, who put on a clinic earlier in the day to knockout No 6 seed Ons Jabeur 6-0, 6-2.
The 21-year-old Frenchman won against Chinese Xinyu Wang, the No 30 seed (6-3, 2-6, 6-3) in the previous round.
In the previous round, Rakhimova, ranked No 90, won against American Emina Bektas (6-4, 6-4).
