Qualifier Marc Polmans reached the second round of the Zhuhai Open by winning against qualifier Dane Sweeny 6-3, 6-1 at the Zhuhai Hengqin International Tennis Centre on Thursday night.
Polmans, ranked No 152, will face second seed Cameron Norrie next.
