Belgian lucky loser David Goffin defeated Italian Matteo Arnaldi 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the second round of the Swiss Indoors at the St. Jakobshalle. in Basel on Monday.
Goffin, ranked No 54, will play Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 5 seed, next.
