Novak Djokovic became the first man in the Open Era to win every Grand Slam at least twice when he won the 2021 Roland-Garros title.

He also closed the gap on the Big Two – he now has 19 Slams to Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal’s 20 apiece.

It was an achievement well worth recognising – and plenty of famous tennis names did so via social media.

Former US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro – who lost to Djokovic in the 2018 US Open final – was quick to post congratulations on Twitter, calling him a “deserved champion”.

Former world No 1 Andy Roddick detailed the qualities he thinks make Djokovic so hard to beat – highlighting his psychological toughness.

Two-time US Open champion Tracy Austin hailed Djokovic and his peers, writing: “What a generation for men’s tennis!”

And one of the men who also won every Slam – but prior to the Open Era – had his own words of praise for the new champion.
