Japan Open: Karatsev into quarter-finals, defeats Zhang
Aslan Karatsev won against Zhizhen Zhang 6-3, 6-4 on Thursday afternoon and will play Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 4 seed, in the next round

Russian Aslan Karatsev beat Chinese Zhizhen Zhang 6-3, 6-4 to move into the last eight of the Japan Open at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo on Thursday afternoon.
Karatsev, ranked No 50, will play Australian Alex de Minaur, the No 4 seed, next.
The Russian won against American Frances Tiafoe, the No 6 seed (6-3, 7-6 (4)) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Tokyo Open, Zhang, ranked No 57, edged out Pole Hubert Hurkacz (3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4)).
