Australian Rinky Hijikata reached the second round of the Hall of Fame Open by winning against Jordanian Abdullah Shelbayh 6-3, 6-4 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum in Newport on Monday evening.
Hijikata, ranked No 116, will face second seed Adrian Mannarino next.
