Hugo Gaston advanced to the second round of the European Open by beating Arthur Rinderknech 7-6 (7), 6-4 at the Lotto Arena in Antwerp on Monday evening.
Gaston, ranked No 96, will face second seed Jan-Lennard Struff next.
