ATP rankings: Fils makes top 20 debut, Berrettini returns to top 50

The latest ATP rankings released this Monday have seen some big movements in the men’s top 100.

Notably, Arthur Fils makes his top 20 debut at the age of 20, with the Frenchman winning the ATP 500 in Hamburg on the weekend. He moves up eight places to No 20 in the world.

Former No 6 Matteo Berrettini also takes a big leap, up 32 places after winning the Swiss Open. He is back inside the world’s top 50 for the first time since August last year, with the Italian’s progress marred by injuries in recent years.

The men’s top 10 remains largely unchanged, this week, with just Casper Ruud and Andrey Rublev swapping places.

Here is the top 10 in the ATP rankings as of July 22, 2024:

1. Jannik Sinner: 9,570 points
2. Novak Djokovic: 8,460 points
3. Carlos Alcaraz: 8,130 points
4. Alexander Zverev: 7,295 points
5. Daniil Medvedev: 6,525 points
6. Alex de Minaur: 4,185 points
7. Hubert Hurkacz: 4,105 points
8. Casper Ruud: 3,925 points
9. Andrey Rublev: 3,830 points
10. Grigor Dimitrov: 3,770 points

Other players to make big movements in this week’s rankings are Zhizhen Zheng, Luca Darderi, Marcos Giron and Nuno Borges, who all hit career highs. 

Adrian Mannarino’s slide continues, however, with the Frenchman unable to buy a win at the moment and dropping seven places to No 32 after his unsuccessful title defence in Newport.

Sebastian Ofner and Miomir Kecmanovic also dropped points and moved outside of the world’s top 50.

Beaten Bastad semi-finalist Thiago Agustin Tirante also moved to the cusp of re-entering the top 100, gaining 20 places to No 101 in the world.
