ATP Indian Wells: Fils saves matchpoint to beat Musetti and reach last 16
The Frenchman will play American Marcos Giron in the next round

Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 20 seed, saved a matchpoint late in the second set before coming back to beat Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 15 seed, in a three-set battle at the ATP Indian Wells Masters on Sunday.
After Musetti had taken the first set, the Italian found himself a break down to Fils in the second set but restored parity at 4-4. The Italian held a matchpoint on the Fils’ serve in the 12th game but the Frenchman saved it and went on to win the tiebreaker to force a decider.
From 3-3 in the third, Fils won three games on the trot to close out the 3-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3 win and reach the last 16, where he will play American Marcos Giron next.
The 20-year-old Frenchman, ranked No 21 in the world, defeated Canadian lucky loser Gabriel Diallo (6-2, 6-2) ahead of his win today.
In the previous round of the tournament, Musetti, ranked No 16, won against Russian Roman Safiullin (7-5, 5-7, 6-2).
