ATP Indian Wells: Medvedev advances as Michelsen retires
Daniil Medvedev benefited from the retirement of Alex Michelsen on Sunday and will face American Tommy Paul, the No 10 seed, in the next round

Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 5 seed, moved into the last 16 of the Indian Wells Masters when Alex Michelsen, the No 31 seed, retired early in the first set on Sunday during their third round clash.
Medvedev, ranked No 6, was leading 2-0 when Michelsen, ranked No 32, pulled out of the match with an apparent bout of food posioning.
The Russian will play American Tommy Paul, the No 10 seed, next.
Medvedev beat Chinese Yunchaokete Bu (6-2, 6-2) in the previous round of the tournament.
In the previous round, the 20-year-old Michelsen won against qualifier Colton Smith (6-3, 6-4).
