Seventh seed Andrey Rublev suffered an early exit from the Indian Wells Masters on Saturday as he was beaten 6-4, 7-5 by Italy’s Matteo Arnaldi at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
Arnaldi, ranked No 35, will play the winner of the match between Australian Rinky Hijikata and American Brandon Nakashima, the No 32 seed, next.
The Italian edged out American Aleksandar Kovacevic (6-3, 5-7, 6-4) in the previous round of the Indian Wells Tennis Masters.
