Shapovalov books third-round clash with Alcaraz in Indian Wells

Canadian Denis Shapovalov set up a mouthwatering clash with two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in the BNP Paribas Open after easing past Australian qualifier Adam Walton 6-3, 6-2 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Saturday.
Shapovalov, seeded 27, has enjoyed a superb start to the season, winning his first Masters 500 title in Dallas and looked in command throughout as he cruised to a comfortable victory.
In the previous round of the Indian Wells Tennis Masters, Walton, ranked No 96, beat Italian qualifier Giulio Zeppieri (7-5, 6-1).
