Indian Wells: Gaston moves into second round to face Hurkacz

French qualifier Hugo Gaston advanced to the second round of the Indian Wells Masters by defeating Italian Luciano Darderi 6-3, 6-3 on Thursday.

Gaston, ranked No 93, will face No 21 seed Hubert Hurkacz next.
