WTA rankings update: Navarro equals career-high, Badosa back in top 10
The American climbed two places to No 8 after reaching the final in Merida
Emma Navarro’s win in the WTA event in Merida on Sunday night, a spectacular double-bagel victory over Emiliana Arango, ensured she moved back up to No 8 in the latest WTA rankings.
The American’s climb of two places means she equals her career-high, first achieved in September of last year after her run to a first Grand Slam semi-final at the US Open.
Paula Badosa returns to the top 10 after a week away, thanks to Mirra Andreeva falling two places to No 11.

Arango storms into top 100
Arango may have felt rather harshly done by in the final in Merida but the Colombian will take plenty of comfort from a huge rise, climbing 53 places to break the top 100 at No 80.
Australia’s Maya Joint rises 17 places to No 85 while her compatriot, Ajla Tomljanovic, returns to the top 100 in 94th spot, up 17 on the week.
McCartney Kessler is into the top 50 for the first time, rising eight places to No 48, after reaching the final in Austin on Sunday.
