Mexican Open: Michelsen battles past wildcard Bu to edge into second round

American Alex Michelsen reached the second round of the Mexican Open by edging out Chinese wildcard Yunchaokete Bu 2-6, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (5) at the Arena GNP Seguros in Acapulco.

Michelsen, ranked No 34, will face Canadian Denis Shapovalov, the No 9 seed, next.
