Acapulco: Davidovich Fokina saves four match points to beat Bellucci

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina came back from the brink of defeat to beat Mattia Bellucci on Tuesday in Acapulco. Davidovich Fokina awaits either Frances Tiafoe or Alexandre Muller.

Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina beat Italian lucky loser Mattia Bellucci 1-6, 7-6 (6), 6-2 to move into the second round of the Mexican Open at the Arena GNP Seguros in Acapulco on Tuesday night.

Davidovich Fokina saved four consecutive match points from 6-2 down in the second-set tiebreak.

The world No 48 will next face the winner of the match between American Frances Tiafoe, the No 7 seed, and Frenchman Alexandre Muller.
