Giron cruises into Acapulco second round

American Marcos Giron defeated Australian qualifier Adam Walton 7-6 (4), 6-2 to reach the second round of the Mexican Open at the Arena GNP Seguros in Acapulco on Monday night.

Giron, ranked No 52, will next play the winner of a match between Canadian qualifier Gabriel Diallo and American Tommy Paul, the No 3 seed.
