Etcheverry beats Moutet in Rio de Janeiro first round

Argentina’s Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 8 seed, beat Frenchman Corentin Moutet 6-3, 7-6 (1) to reach the second round of the Rio Open at the Jockey Club Brasileiro in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday evening.

Etcheverry, ranked No 43, awaits the winner of a match between Brazilian Joao Fonseca and Frenchman Alexandre Muller.
