Dutchwoman Anouk Koevermans advanced to the last 16 of the Cancun Tennis Open by edging out Argentinian lucky loser Julia Riera 1-6, 7-6 (3), 7-5 on Tuesday.
Koevermans, ranked No 193, will face Argentinian Solana Sierra, the No 7 seed, next.
