Cluj-Napoca Open: Potapova through to last eight
Anastasia Potapova won against Viktorija Golubic 6-4, 7-5 on Thursday. She’ll play the winner of the match between Russian Anna Blinkova and German qualifier Ella Seidel in the next round
Russian Anastasia Potapova, the top seed, defeated Swiss Viktorija Golubic 6-4, 7-5 to move into the quarter-finals of the Cluj-Napoca Open at the BT Arena on Thursday afternoon.
Potapova, ranked No 32, will play the winner of the match between Russian Anna Blinkova and German qualifier Ella Seidel next.
In the previous round of the Cluj-Napoca tournament, the Russian won against Austrian Julia Grabher (6-4, 6-0).
Golubic, ranked No 113, edged out Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus (7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (10)) in the previous round of the Cluj-Napoca tournament.
