Australian Open: Michelsen moves into third round to face Khachanov

American Alex Michelsen beat Australian wildcard James McCabe 7-5, 6-3, 7-6 (4) to reach the third round of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park on Thursday.
Michelsen, ranked No 42, will face Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 19 seed, next.
The 20-year-old American edged out Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 11 seed (7-5, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4) in the previous round.
Earlier in the week, McCabe, ranked No 258, won against Spanish qualifier Martin Landaluce (6-4, 6-3, 6-4).
