Australian Open: Moutet books spot in third round
Corentin Moutet edged out Mitchell Krueger 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (3), 6-4 on Thursday night. He’ll face the winner of the match between American qualifier Learner Tien and Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 5 seed, in the next round

Frenchman Corentin Moutet edged out American qualifier Mitchell Krueger 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (3), 6-4 to reach the third round of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park on Thursday night.
Moutet, ranked No 69, will play the winner of the match between American qualifier Learner Tien and Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 5 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the Frenchman edged out Australian Alexei Popyrin, the No 25 seed (4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4).
Krueger, ranked No 146, defeated Australian Rinky Hijikata (6-4, 6-4, 6-3) in the previous round of the first Grand Slam tournament in 2025.
