Australian Open: Gauff books spot in third round

American Coco Gauff, the No 3 seed, moved into the third round of the Australian Open by winning against Jodie Burrage 6-3, 7-5 at Melbourne Park on Wednesday.
Gauff, ranked No 3, will play Canadian Leylah Fernandez, the No 30 seed, next.
In the previous round of the first Grand Slam tournament of the 2025 season, the 20-year-old American defeated Sofia Kenin (6-3, 6-3).
Burrage, ranked No 173, beat French qualifier Leolia Jeanjean (6-2, 6-4) during the first round of the first Grand Slam tournament of the 2025 season.
