Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 5 seed, won the Adelaide International title by beating American Sebastian Korda, the second seed, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 on Saturday. The win improved his head-to-head over Korda to 3-1 on the tour.

This was his sixth career ATP singles title and his first on outdoor hardcourts with all his five previous titles coming on indoor hardcourts. After losing his first eight ATP finals, Auger-Aliassime has now won six of his last eight finals on tour.

It was also his eighth win in a row over an American player since the beginning of the 2024 season.

Earlier in the tournament, Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 29, defeated Frenchman Arthur Cazaux (1-6, 6-4, 7-5), American Marcos Giron (7-6 (3), 6-3) and American Tommy Paul, the top seed (7-6 (3), 3-6, 6-4).

Korda, ranked No 22, beat Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (6-3, 6-3), Australian wildcard Thanasi Kokkinakis (W/O) and Serb Miomir Kecmanovic (6-3, 7-6 (4)) in the previous rounds of the tournament.

The American, who had not dropped his serve all week prior to the final, is now 2-7 in ATP finals on the tour.
