Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 5 seed, moved into the last 4 of the Adelaide Open by defeating American Marcos Giron 7-6 (3), 6-3 at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre on Thursday.

Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 29, will face American Tommy Paul, the top seed, next.

The Canadian edged out Frenchman Arthur Cazaux (1-6, 6-4, 7-5) in the previous round of the Adelaide tournament.

In the previous rounds of the Adelaide tournament, Giron, ranked No 45, won against Australian Aleksandar Vukic (6-2, 3-6, 6-3) and Canadian Denis Shapovalov (7-5, 6-2).
