ATP Adelaide: Top seed Paul makes last eight

American Tommy Paul, the top seed, beat French lucky loser Manuel Guinard 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to advance to the last eight of the Adelaide International at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre on Wednesday.

Paul, ranked No 12, will play Australian lucky loser Rinky Hijikata next.

Guinard, ranked No 261, won against Russian Roman Safiullin (7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-1) in the previous round of the tournament.
