ATP Adelaide: Kecmanovic advances to last eight

Serb Miomir Kecmanovic reached the quarter-finals of the Adelaide International by winning against Australian Christopher O’Connell 7-6 (1), 6-2 at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre on Wednesday.

Kecmanovic, ranked No 55, will face the winner of the match between Australian wildcard Li Tu and French qualifier Benjamin Bonzi next.

The Serb defeated Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 6 seed (6-4, 6-2) in the previous round of the tournament.

Earlier in the week, O’Connell, ranked No 64, won against Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech (7-5, 7-6 (5)).
